Griezmann is edging closer to a switch to Barcelona, with the Nou Camp club reportedly willing to meet his £100m release clause.
Despite the club being reported by Atletico Madrid over their approach for the French striker, boss Diego Simeone has already stated that he would not keep Griezmann from leaving.
With Diego Costa arriving formally in January, Simeone has his replacement with cash to spare.
But whilst Barca fans may rejoice, there is one key figure who is unhappy with the deal.
That is none other than their talisman Messi, according to Diario Gol.
The Spanish publication report that Griezmann’s arrival would signal the end of Luis Suarez’s days at the club, who is a close friend of Messi.
The Argentinean forward has been putting pressure on the club to pull out of the deal.
Suarez is currently unrivalled in his position at the Catalan club, but that would change if Griezmann signed.
And Griezmann is aware of Messi’s position, making the two’s relationship already fractured.
The former Real Sociedad forward has made it loud and clear to club president Josep Bartomeu that he wants a starting position, or he will not join.
That leaves boss Ernesto Valverde in a sticky situation, does he risk the squad harmony by dropping Suarez or risk a tactical blunder by playing all three?
