Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been spotted in England, watching Watford’s clash against Leicester. The former Juventus manager can be seen at the Vicarage Road along with his assistant during his time at Stamford Bridge.   The Italian, who is still out of work after leaving Chelsea in the summer, has been spending a lot of his time in England and was in attendance at Vicarage Road.

Conte and Holland spent time at Chelsea together, but seeing them together at such a random Premier League clash led to mass confusion from fans.   Some even suggested that perhaps the two could be preparing to take a job together, writing on Twitter: ‘Steve Holland sure is spending a lot of time in and around London with Antonio Conte as of late’. Holland is typically seen in and around Premier League grounds at the weekends watching players in the frame for an England call-up.
While Conte is rarely seen out and about at Premier League games these days as his search for a new job continues. The 49-year-old has been linked with several high-profile clubs since being sacked by Chelsea but is yet to land himself a new role.
However, Corriere dello Sport claim Conte is being lined up as a potential replacement for Juventus boss Max Allegri, who could leave at the end of the season. Conte, a former Juventus captain, also enjoyed a successful three-year spell as manager of the club between 2011-2014 and has a strong relationship with the chairman Andrea Agnelli. The Italian outlet have reported that Juventus are keen to bring Conte back to Italy and that he is No 1 on their list.
Few weeks ago, Conte revealed to Sky Sports Italia that he’s still embroiled in legal wrangling with Chelsea. He said: Chelsea is the past for me now. I don’t want to talk about it, especially as there is still legal action on-going between me and the club.  Chelsea paid Conte 9 million after he was sacked. But Conte is seeking further compensation believing the timing of his sacking blocked him from employment this year. Accordingly, Conte was seemingly at Sunday’s match as his personal issues drag on.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has reportedly “thrown in the towel” over his attempts to use Philippe Coutinho as part of his midfield, according to reports in Spain. The Brazil international was signed for a club record €135m last year in a high-profile move from Liverpool and he’s gone on to make 51 appearances for Barça, scoring 16 goals and claiming 11 assists across all competitions.
Gabriel Mercado,Philippe Coutinho
Coutinho was signed under the impression that he would be Barcelona’s long-term successor to Andrés Iniesta, but Sport claim that Valverde has given up on the idea of using him in the midfield due to his lack of support in defence.
Barcelona’s head coach has arranged a meeting with Coutinho to try and find a solution, but the board of directors are concerned over the Brazilian’s current situation.

Valverde supposedly wants to follow in the footsteps of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City by using two naturally attacking midfielders – Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva, for example – alongside a pivot sitting just in front of the defence.
Philippe Coutinho
Coutinho is largely playing second fiddle to Ousmane Dembélé in Barcelona’s attack this season and he is claimed to be upset at not being in the first team, something which both Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez have supposedly caught wind of in recent weeks. The 26-year-old was even linked with a move away from the Camp Nou ahead of the January transfer window, but aside from tenuous links with Manchester United, there don’t appear to be any potential suitors for Coutinho so early into his Barcelona career.
Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele are in doubt for Wednesday’s Copa del Rey game against Real Madrid due to injuries and the Barcelona medical staff are expected to reassess their progress on Monday. The Argentine picked up an injury to his thigh during Saturday’s encounter against Valencia, while the Frenchman has been sidelined for the last couple of weeks.
Medical tests after the 2-2 draw against Los Che showed that Messi had a muscle spasm and there won’t be any more tests, with the 31-year-old forward to rest and with his progress to be monitored when he returns to training on Monday.

Meanwhile, the recovery of Dembele, who suffered a sprained ankle against Leganes, was slowed down by flu, which kept the former Borussia Dortmund player at home for several days. The World Cup winner will train with the group after the weekend, when the medical staff will re-evaluate his physical condition.

Blaugrana doctors on Sunday morning prescribed the forward antiobiotics and told him to go home and rest after he reported to the club’s training ground suffering from a fever, complaining of pain in his tonsils and feeling generally unwell. Ernesto Valverde will have the last word on whether the two players are fit enough to follow the rest of the team to the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals. He has never been one to take risks, but this is obviously a huge fixture.

Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi
Do you think Barcelona can get a good result out against Real Madrid at the Camp Nou even if Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele didn’t finally make the squad?
According to Marca, Sao Paulo and Barcelona have reached an agreement for the loan of Gabriel Novaes, who will join the Blaugrana’s B team. The Brazilian will move to the Catalans until 30 June 2020 and Barcelona, whose B team play in the Segunda Division B, will retain a purchase option in the deal.

According to Globoesporte, Sevilla were also interested in the acquisition of the 19-year-old, who has already arrived in Spain. Novaes is expected to undergo his medical examinations and finalise the final contract details with Barcelona; everything will be completed before the end of the January transfer window.
Image result for Gabriel Novaes BarcelonaAfter bringing in Frenkie de Jong, Todibo, Kevin-Prince Boateng, and now Gabriel Novaes on loan, Barcelona will now focus on players leaving the club before the January transfer window closes on Thursday night. Munir El Haddadi has been the only departure from the Camp Nou thus far but he looks set to have some company in that regard in the coming days. One player who looks certain to leave the Blaugrana is Denis Suarez, according to reports by MARCA, and while the midfielder would love to join Arsenal, they are not currently in a position to sign the midfielder.
Image result for Frenkie de Jong, Todibo, Kevin-Prince Boateng
The Galician has been unable to force himself into Ernesto Valverde’s plans and his contract ends in June 2020. Barcelona are only willing to allow Denis to leave the club on loan if it includes an obligatory purchase option as they do not want a repeat of Rafinha’s case with Inter from last season. As a result, Barcelona are more willing to listen to offers that provide a short-term boost regarding funds, such as those proposed by Real Betis and Sevilla; the solution to Denis’ soap opera will be decided in the coming hours.

Another footballer who could leave the club is Malcom, though it is more likely that he will leave in the summer, unless a mouth-watering proposal arrived. Barcelona do not want to make a loss on their 41 million euro investment after signing him from Bordeaux last summer. Like Denis, Malcom has been unable to establish himself under Valverde and whenever he has been given an opportunity, he has disappointed, as he did against Sevilla in the first leg of the Blaugrana’s quarter-final Copa del Rey tie last week.

One more remote option is that Jasper Cillessen would’ve pushed for a move if Barcelona had been knocked out of the Copa del Rey against Sevilla but he will definitely be staying after they wonderful comeback win at the Camp Nou. The Dutchman is aware that Marc-Andre ter Stegen would be the goalkeeper in LaLiga Santander and the Champions League, so rather than sit on the bench for six months without playing, he may opt to go out on loan and play. More likely, however, is that Cillessen leaves the club in the summer in order to play more regularly.

Football has been called America’s game, and it is the dream of moms and dads across the country to see their sons suit up and compete on the grid iron. Though playing the game seems like a wonderful way to teach teamwork and encourage athleticism, it has a dark side. Football has the dubious distinction of being the number one sport in the nation for player injuries, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has reported that in 2007 alone, over 920,000 children under the age of 18 have received medical treatment in clinics, doctors’ offices and emergency rooms. Though accidents can happen, many of these injuries are a result of negligence in supervision or in the manufacturing and design of safety equipment. If your child suffered a football injury that you believe was preventable, the experienced CT injury attorneys at Jonathan Perkins Attorneys at Law can help. Contact us today and we’ll set up an appointment to review your case.
There are a number of different types of football injuries. The most common of these are trauma, overuse injuries, heat injuries and head injuries.
Trauma
Trauma refers to any type of injury that is the result of full contact. In most cases football players suffer trauma to their knees and ankles as a result of the particular type of moves used on the field to avoid being tackled. Football players frequently tear their ACL or PCL or damage their meniscus; ankle sprains and fractures are also common, as are injuries to the shoulder.
Overuse
Overuse injuries are often the result of putting wear and tear on the body too quickly without adequate training or strengthening. The most common overuse injuries seen in football players are patellar tendinitis or low back pain.
Heat
Heat is a particular concern for those who live in the southern climates, but even in the northern regions football players who practice during their preseason in the late summer have been known to be overcome by heat exhaustion. Some players have died as a result.
Head
Head injuries, and particularly concussions, are extremely common among football players. Though helmet designs have been improved, the nature of the game means that players are constantly striking one another’s heads, and this can result in severe trauma that has recently been connected to cognitive and memory problems later in life.
When your child plays football, it is supposed to be a positive experience, but being injured by any of these types of football injuries can have a profound impact on their quality of life now and in the future. If your child has suffered an injury that you believe is the result of negligence, we can help you to get the financial compensation that you need and deserve. Contact the experienced CT injury attorneys at Jonathan Perkins Attorneys at Law to set up a free consultation.

Football is a contact sport and players accept sports injuries as an inevitable part of the game. However some injuries are caused by assaults or avoidable accidents and in those cases a civil claim for compensation can be brought against the offending player or his club.
For there to be civil liability the incident will usually be particularly dangerous or deliberate act. Much will depend on the particular circumstances of the case. A mistimed slide tackle in the wet may look similar to a deliberate high two footed lunge where the player is nowhere near the ball. The former may only be a yellow card offence, the latter may result in a civil claim. It is the serious career threatening injuries that tend to warrant civil action, where that the injured party can claim the losses resulting from having to give up the sport. Claims are sometimes brought in the professional game, and in a notable case arising from a tackle in a reserve match in 2003 a Manchester United youngster was so badly injured that he had to give up professional football. He was awarded over £4 million by the High Court in lost earnings as a footballer, the highest award of its type for a professional sportsman. It is not just Premier League footballers that can bring a claim though; the same legal principles apply whatever the level of the game, from professional to amateur, Sunday league and 5 a side football.
Injuries can also be caused by the action or inaction of others. Those who own and control the football pitches and facilities that we all use to play and watch football owe us a duty of care. That duty is to ensure, so far as possible, that the premises are reasonably safe for the people using them. So they will be responsible for a pitch that has pot holes, broken glass or other dangerous defects that they knew about or ought to have known about.
Where injury is caused by a deliberate assault then there may be a claim for compensation to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, a government scheme that provides limited recompense for the victims of violent crime, but depending on the circumstances there may also be a claim against the player and/or his club.
Recent case study
Mr L was playing for his regular indoor 5 a side team at the sports hall of a local school. The school were aware – although Mr L was not – that there had been a problem with water leaking from the roof and dripping down onto the floor of the sports hall. So on the evening in question there was a puddle of water on the playing surface and it had not been cleared up.
Shortly after the game started Mr L was running with the ball. There was no other player near him, when he suddenly collapsed. One foot had slipped in the puddle but the other – because of the grip on the soles of his trainers – remained static and force was enough to fracture his tibia and fibula so badly they came through the skin of the lower leg. He needed surgery to plate the fractures and is still not back to playing football. Liability was eventually admitted by the insurers and Mr L is awaiting further medical investigations (MRI scans and x-rays) to determine whether the bones have united and whether he will suffer long term problems with pain and mobility.

Georgia Football Leagues Could be Liable for Player’s Head Injuries

It is well known that the National Football League (NFL) has been involved in lawsuits that involve head injuries to their players. Similarly, other leagues, including Georgia youth football leagues, may begin to see lawsuits based on the league’s failure to warn players and parents about the potential dangers of playing in the football league.

Potential Liability of Georgia Sport’s Leagues

Many of the lawsuits filed against the NFL and other leagues in Georgia and around the U.S. are based on the link between participating in sports and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy(CTE) which is a disease that occurs due to repeated head injuries. The lawsuits allege that the league was aware of the potential dangers associated with CTE and participation in sports but failed to disclose those dangers. The lawsuits further allege that because the league did not disclose the potential risks to the players,, the league can be held liable.

The Lawsuits

In one particular lawsuit, the mother of a 25- year old young man who’d committed suicide alleged that her son suffered brain damage after he played in a youth league for four years. The autopsy of the young man showed he suffered from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy and that because of the young man’s CTE, he suffered severe emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and physical issues. In addition, it is alleged that the CTE was a major factor in the young man committing suicide.

The lawsuit also alleges that the youth league knew about the potential risks to young children being greater than that of older players but failed to warn the players or their parents about the risks involved. The mother of the young man asked for $5 million in damages. The lawsuit settled for an unknown amount.

In another lawsuit against the same league, a young person was paralyzed while making a tackle in a football game. This lawsuit stated that they believed the league encouraged extremely dangerous head-first tackles and that the league knew these types of tackles were more likely to lead to head injuries.

Georgia’s Return to Play Law

The risk of sports related traumatic brain injuries is so great both in the NFL and in other leagues that Congress is considering legislation that sets new rules on the management of some sports related to traumatic brain injuries in an attempt to make high school sports safer.

One study suggests that up to 47% of all high school football players and approximately 140,000 high school athletes suffer concussions each year. While some people assume this is due to football injuries, it’s also related to other sports such as basketball.

In 2013, Georgia’s Return to Play Act made it state law that any child who is suspected to have had a concussion while participating in sports needs to be removed from the game, competition, tryout, and/or practice immediately. In addition, any child who has a concussion must have medical clearance from their doctor for a full or graduated return to play before being allowed to participate in the sport.

If your child has sustained a head or neck injury while participating in a Georgia sports activity, you should contact knowledgeable, experienced, and skilled Georgia personal injury attorney, Lashonda Council Rogers.
