The former Anfield favorites will return with Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Liverpool will come up against former Anfield favorites Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho in the Champions League semi-finals.
The Reds secured their place in the last four of the competition with a 4-1 away win against Porto, completing a 6-1 aggregate success.
They will now face Barcelona in a mouthwatering semi-final following their thrashing of Manchester United on Tuesday.
Suarez and Coutinho have both not played against Liverpool in a competitive match since their moves from Anfield to the Nou Camp.
Coutinho left in a £140m deal in January 2018 while Suarez ended his stay on Merseyside in the summer of 2014.
Both are likely to feature in the two legs, fitness permitting, and Jurgen Klopp was asked about the proposition of taking on two former Liverpool stars.
"Honestly, the only thing I am thinking about is Cardiff on Sunday," the Reds boss said.
"For these two boys, it is very special, because they are Liverpool legends.
"But I don't think it will be a friendly game, we have to fight and work and they will do that as well.
"It is a wonderful game, Liverpool vs Barcelona in the semi-finals. Now let's try to do the best there and we will see what happens.
Barca also faces the unenviable task of trying to stop Lionel Messi with the Argentine scoring twice to down United at the Nou Camp.

On coming up against the Barca skipper, Klopp added: "Thank God I don’t have to think about that tonight. I have a few nights.
"No one has so far managed it but we will try. We have a few jobs before that."

Barca star Suarez has scored an impressive 173 goals and provided 94 assists in 237 games for the Spanish giants.

With Luis Suarez entering the twilight years of his career, Barcelona is beginning to look at long-term replacements for the Uruguayan.
Suarez has become an integral part of the Barca set-up since arriving from Liverpool in a £75million move almost five years ago.
The forward has scored an impressive 173 goals and provided 94 assists in 237 games for the Spanish giants, and has formed a deadly partnership with Lionel Messi.
But at 32 years old, he isn’t getting any younger and reports in Spain have claimed that club chiefs are now assessing their options going forward.
Though in no rush to immediately replace Suarez, the club has two possible replacements in mind who fit the criteria they are looking for.
Spanish daily AS report that Serbian striker Luka Jovic, currently starring on loan at Frankfurt from Benfica, is one of the names they’re looking at it.
The 21-year-old hitman has 15 goals in 24 Bundesliga appearances and would add the required firepower when Suarez leaves the Nou Camp.
Brazil-born Spanish international Rodrigo, who plays in La Liga with Valencia, is the alternative option that Barca is keeping tabs on.
Though more of a winger rather than a central forward, the 28-year-old has five goals and the same number of assists in La Liga.
Jovic is the preferred option by club chiefs, as claimed by AS, while Barca manager Ernesto Valverde would rather sign Rodrigo.

Barça has chosen. Specifically, Messi and Luis SuárezWhile the directive looks for relief for the charrúa, the two azulgranas stars are vetoing incorporations to right and sinister.
A young '9' is looking for a substitute for the Uruguayan, who can no longer play everything, but who does not discuss the position at any time. And the chosen one is Luka Jovic.

The Serbian is the one who likes Leo and 'Luisito'. He is 21 years old, he is breaking it in the Eintracht Frankfurt and it would cost 60 million euros, approximatelyAn expensive investment, but one that ensures a goal. And it would not be real competition at any time.
On the other hand, Valverde and the dome of Barcelona want Antoine Griezmann, and more, after learning that his clause of rescission until June is 120 'kilos', and not 200, as was rumored.
But Messi and Suarez do not want to see the French or in dreamsHe rejected the possibility of playing at Barça last year and there is no going back. To make matters worse, it would be serious competition for the front. No way.
So, 'Grizzi', who is going crazy to get out of an Atletico adrift, has already offered himself to another club, Real Madrid. He hopes that there they give him the 'yes' and can change of airs to go to a club 'top' that really fight for the Champions.
Griezmann has already realized that in the mattress box he does not aspire to anything. One humiliation after another and false hopes that everything will be better.

The options to win 'Orejonas', there, are nonexistent. At best, Europa League, a trophy that already seems a lot for a team without direction.
In the Santiago Bernabéu yes it hopes to gain something, but Florentino Pérez and Zidane have it in the chamber and not as the main objective.

Ernesto Valverde is likely to make a couple of changes to the Barcelona side that beat Rayo Vallecano 3-1 in La Liga on Saturday.
Sergi Roberto should replace Nelson Semedo at right-back, while Ivan Rakitic is expected to come in for Arthur in midfield alongside Sergio Busquets and Arturo Vidal.
Lionel Messi and Philippe Coutinho are certain to flank Luis Suarez, while Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba should make up the rest of the back four sitting in front of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
As far as injuries go, Rafinha is Valverde’s sole absentee - but Ousmane Dembele and Thomas Vermaelen are both doubts.
The score is poised at 0-0 ahead of tonight’s second leg at the Nou Camp following a stalemate out in France in the first, and Valverde insists neither team obtains a clear advantage.
“Nil-nil from the first leg is a result which benefits neither side because if neither of us scores it will go into extra time,” he said.
“Lyon will come here with their weapons, they’ve got a very strong attack – very quick, powerful players up front and I’m sure they’ll try to exploit that.
“They know how important it would be for them to get an away goal tomorrow, so I’m sure they’ll look for that too.”

As things stand, Lyon will only be without long-term absentee Amine Gouiri this evening.
They are sweating on the fitness of Rafael and Marcelo, nevertheless, who is facing a race against time to feature.
Tonight’s clash gets underway at 8:00 pm.
Barcelona predicted team: Ter Stegen, Roberto, Pique, Umtiti, Alba, Rakitic, Busquets, Vidal, Messi, Coutinho, Suarez.

Barça is still looking for a substitute for guarantees for Luis Suarez, who already sees the end of his career as a professional, although he continues to perform at a high level.
But age does not forgive and the Uruguayan is already 32 years old. It is gone, and it has not been for a while, to play absolutely everything. Every time it costs more to keep in shape.
However, Leo Messi, his best friend, and best partner both on and off the turf refuses to accept it. He believes that he can still give much more and stretch his career in several campaigns.
But the Argentine has given his arm to twist and has agreed to bring a '9'. But a real forward. No hindrances as Munir or Boateng, two players who do not contribute anything, but they were, and the Ghanaian is, to play the typical inconsequential match where Barcelona had the victory assured before playing.
The profile is more than marked. A young footballer, with a projection, a goal-scoring sense, who is not excessively expensive and who accepts being a substituteLuka Jovic was and is the favorite, but his appraisal is skyrocketing thanks to a large number of clubs that follow in his footsteps.
In the last 24 hours, a name has gained a lot of strength. It is the one of Maxi Gómez, forward of the Celta de Vigo, that has been offered in the Camp NouThe Uruguayan also has the approval of his compatriot, Suarez, who also has the mission to make him forget in the national team.
After a sensational first season, in which he scored up to 19 goals, this season Gómez has lowered his performance, due to injuries, and adds nine. Even so, a considerable figure for a player of only 22 years and that militates in a team in descent.
Precisely the sports crisis of Celta is the one that brings Maxi to Barça. El is combined Gallego antepenultimate and reduce its descent clause of charrúa from 60 to 25
'kilos'A bargain.

Barcelona are due to play their arch-rivals, Real Madrid once again this Saturday evening. The two oppositions would be facing each other for the third time within the span of 30 days. The previous two meetings between Real and Barca have ended in a draw and a victory for Barcelona.
The Cules seemed right on top of their game when they faced Santiago Solari’s men in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg fixture. A resounding 0-3 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu was all that mattered for Barcelona to progress in the cup tie.
However, the upcoming meeting is going to be an entirely different ball game as they play each in the La Liga Santander. Barcelona emerged victorious the last time these two sides met in La Liga with an embarrassing and humiliating 5-1 defeat for Madrid. This should leave the Los Blancos with more than enough reason to seek revenge.
Ernesto Valverde has a full-strength squad to pick from for the up-coming Clasico except for Rafinha and Thomas Vermaelen. Arturo Vidal, Clement Lenglet and Gerard Pique all carry the risk of missing Barcelona’s next Primera Division fixture against Rayo Vallecano with four yellow cards each to their names.
Here’s how we at T4O feel Valverde’s men would line-up to face Real Madrid.

Defence

Ter Stegen would be the man taking charge in front of goal. The German had a fantastic outing the last time he stepped foot at the Bernabeu. The right back position would be of slight concern with Vinicius in the form of his life, but Semedo should start given that he could cope with the pace of Brazilian Junior in the cup fixture.
Pique would start in the heart of the Barcelona defence and would be partnered by Clement Lenglet who seems far more match-fit than Samuel Umtiti. The left-back position would be without a doubt be occupied by Jordi Alba.

Midfield

The ever-reliant Sergio Busquets would be starting in midfield alongside Ivan Rakitic and Sergi Roberto. The trio was clinical in Barcelona’s win against Real Madrid a couple of nights ago. Carlos Alena may be bought into the side instead of Sergi Roberto given that momentum is in Barcelona’s favour.

Attack

With Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez compulsory on a to-do list for the starting eleven, there is only a vacancy on the right-hand side. Dembele started in the league meeting and got two assists to his credit. Coutinho who has been not performing as per expectations lately could be given the nod to prove his worth on the big day. However, it would be difficult to predict between the two as Barcelona are in commanding position to win the league title once again this year.
Predicted Line-Up
Ter Stegen
Semedo – Pique – Lenglet – Alba
Alena/Roberto – Busquets – Rakitic
Messi – Suarez – Dembele/Coutinho

Luis Suarez has been a great servant to Barcelona.
Signed in 2014 from Liverpool for £64.98 million, Suarez has played a key role as Barcelona have won three La Liga titles.
In his five seasons at the club, he has made 231 appearances and hit the back of the net 168 times.
However, at 32 years old, Suarez has recently shown signs that his age is catching up with him.
The Uruguayan international's goal tally has declined this season, 'only' scoring 16 times in 31 appearances.
While that is a decent return, it isn't quite good enough.
Barcelona fans have become extremely concerned with Suarez's form in recent weeks, with some even deeming him as 'finished'.
His failure to score away at Lyon earlier this week means he hasn't scored away in the Champions League for 16 games.
Indeed, amid his struggles, it is believed that Barcelona will sign a replacement for Suarez in the summer.
Fans were given an option of 20 players, and here's how they voted...
Top 12:
Kylian Mbappe - 48%
Harry Kane - 14%
Luka Jovic - 7%
Maxi Gomez - 4%
Neymar - 4%
Mauro Icardi - 3%
Roberto Firmino - 3%
Timo Werner - 2%
Krzysztof Piątek - 2%
Andre Silva - 2%
Nicolas Pépé - 2%
Antoine Griezmann - 2%
Barcelona fans want Mbappe to replace Suarez, but there are doubts whether he would want to join
So it seems Barcelona fans want the club to sign Mbappe more than any other striker.
He will not come cheap, though, and there are doubts whether he would even want to move to Barca at this stage in his career.
The second most popular choice was Kane but, again, he has only recently extended his contract at Tottenham and is unlikely to move in the summer.
Luka Jovic, though, is a much more realistic target.
Luka Jovic has impressed for Frankfurt and would be a realistic signing for Barcelona
The Benfica player, who is currently on loan at Frankfurt, has scored 20 times in 30 appearances for the Bundesliga club.
At just 21 years old, he has his best years well ahead of him and could represent good value for money if they were able to seal a deal for him.

Barcelona have reportedly agreed personal terms with 21-year-old Serbian striker Luka Jovic, who is on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica.

According to German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Barcelona have reached an agreement with Luka Jovic over a move in the summer transfer window. The report adds that Serbian striker, who is on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica, is also the subject of interest from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
Luka Jovic has been quite a revelation at Eintracht Frankfurt, even if belatedly so, having joined the Bundesliga club from Benfica on a two-season loan in the summer of 2017. While the 21-year-old was not a standout performer last season, the current campaign has seen the Serb take German football by storm.

In 27 appearances across all competitions, Jovic has found the back of the net 19 times, with 14 of those goals leaving him in pole position to win the Bundesliga Golden Boot this season. And, his advent has alerted several top clubs across Europe, with Barcelona among the clubs who reportedly had their sights set on him.
Luis Suarez has been prolific for Barcelona yet again this season, with the Uruguayan striker only behind Lionel Messi in the race to win the Pichichi Trophy. But, the fact that the former Liverpool striker, at 32, is now in the twilight of his career, is unlikely to be lost on anyone, particularly after seeing his phases of inconsistency over the last couple of seasons.
To that end, Barcelona seem to have identified Jovic as a possible successor to Suarez, if the report by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung is anything to go by. The La Liga champions though, are not the only big name club in pursuit of the 21-year-old striker, with fierce rivals Real Madrid also keen on signing him, in addition to Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

But, the report suggests that Barcelona are set to edge other suitors in the race to sign Jovic in the summer transfer window, having already reached agreement over personal terms. The only thing that now remains is for the Blaugrana to negotiate a transfer fee for the player.
Eintracht Frankfurt will likely be the club that will be part of the negotiations, with sporting director Bruno Hubner already declaring the Bundesliga outfit’s intention to exercise their option to sign him permanently for a mere €12 million, as reported by Kicker. But, if the latest report indeed turns out to be true, Die Adlercould be set to make a quick profit on Jovic.
Luka Jovic’s star is on the rise, with his terrific attacking partnership with Sebastien Haller and Ante Rebic earning him many admirers. His journey at Eintracht Frankfurt though, might just end soon, with Barcelona being his next destination, and it remains to be seen if a summer transfer sees the light of the day
Athletic Club might have accepted a point before the game if it was on offer but the way the game at the San Mames panned out, they might feel like they left Barcelona off the hook. Their gameplan completely disrupted the visitors and aside from a 15 minute spell at the start of the second half, they had them on the rack. Lionel Messi started even though he continues to struggle through a thigh issue and Ousmane Dembélé was named on the bench. And while Barcelona missed the very best version of Messi although he wasn’t helped by placid displays from the likes of Luis Suárez, Arturo Vidal and Philippe Coutinho along with the absence of suspended Jordi Alba.

It was Athletic Club who started better and Yuri Berchciche sent a warning shot across goal early on. They were trying to disrupt Barcelona high but were more than willing to sit back and soak up pressure when required. And that time did come when Messi started to get into his stride. A bicycle kick from Raul Garcia hit Ter Stegen in the chest, which came after the German showed off his agility to claw a Markel Susaeta curler over the bar. The ball seemed so close to going in for Athletic Club but never did after a succession of corners that saw Ter Stegen punch the ball perilously close to his own goalline.

Barcelona improved after the break and it felt like Athletic Club would have to suffice with the memories of a decent first half as the only thing they could take from the game. But Messi and co., while they had plenty of possession at the start of the second, lacked any sort of a goal threat. Iker Muniain came on after that initial 17 minute Barcelona burst at the start of the second and turned the game back in Bilbao’s favour. He immediately started a counter that saw Mikel San Jose’s strike blaze past Ter Stegen’s post.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen believes that Barcelona must improve following their 0-0 draw with Athletic Club on Sunday. The German was one of the standout performers in the stalemate with a number of excellent saves to keep Athletic at bay. Nevertheless, Ter Stegen insisted that his side must right the wrongs of the game which he felt was a fair result.
“There are always things to improve, it is what we have to do. “We must analyse the game well when the time comes. “It was a justified draw,” he admitted.
Related imageAsked whether the recent pileup of fixtures had anything to do with the team’s uninspiring display, the keeper was in agreement: “It could be that we were tired because February is a very busy month. “Now we can rest for a day or two. “And from then on we must fight for everything,” he said.
Ter Stegen made some fine saves.Asked about his own performance, he preferred to remain modest: “I am not sure if I was the best (performer) of the team, but I try to do my best,” he stated. “Today was a good day, defensively. “But there are always things to improve, on my part as well, but I am happy with my performance,” he concluded.

The years go by and Barça is encountering new obstacles along the way, and not precisely because of its sporting performance. The Catalans found in Luís Suárez a striker who had struggled to achieve in years, and as if it were a matter of fate, he ended up masterfully understanding with Lionel Messi on the court, in addition to having an excellent relationship outside of it.

After 5 seasons and more than 150 goals, it seems that the cycle of one of its leaders in the face of the goal is being fulfilled, and at 32 years has begun to listen to offers to go to another destination. In Barcelona they have noticed how the Uruguayan is finding it increasingly difficult to recover from the physical rigor of each year in the elite, where not only are matches that generate significant wear but also midweek training, for this reason, despite the hard blow that would represent their exit, they would be willing to negotiate if a good offer arrives, as long as they get a goal scorer who can prevent their absence from being a major downturn. From China several offers were coming for the charrúa, although none had been made official because they were in talks. Waiting for new offers, the interest of Manchester United , club that is willing to improve 3 million euros the salary currently received, and ensure 3 years of contract, which is extremely positive to stay at the highest level by several seasons, taking into account his age.

The idea of United is to be their spearhead to return to be determinants in the Champions League , tournament that have been far away lately, because of not having found the technician who can approach the work of Alex Ferguson .

Barca can soon lose another piece , and heading to PSG, which already snatched Neymar almost two years ago. And it is not Rakitic, who can also do the same, if not Philippe Coutinho.
'Ney' has demanded that the board of Paris Saint-Germain sign up his intimate friend , who is going through a bad time in Barcelona. Relegated to the substitution, his departure is no utopia.

And is that 'Cou' has not been able to meet the huge expectations generated by his signing a year ago , in exchange for 160 million euros. The Brazilian, one of the stars of the Premier League, expected a level 'top' and have found a player as shy as fallon.
Despite the fact that the first six months were quite acceptable, with the inconvenience of not being able to play the Champions League, Coutinho fell apart at the beginning of this year.
The former Liverpool was more to less and, above all, after the injury of Messi, at which point he was asked a step forward. And he did it backwards. Since then, he is immersed in a rut that he seems unable to leave.

Even Dembélé, criticized by many and placed on the exit ramp, has eaten Philippe's toast. The Classic will be the great judge of the future of 'canarinho' , which against Sevilla and Valencia showed small flashes that invite hope.
But if it disappoints again, there will be no other solution: Coutinho will be placed on the market . And the PSG would be willing to welcome him, as long as the club azulgrana lowers their demands - he wants to recover the investment of 160 kilos they did for him.
The future of Mbappé
On the other hand, the arrival of the '7' culé to the Parc des Princes could mean the escape of Kylian Mbappé.

That is the opinion of former Nou Camp forward Patrick Kluivert.
Rashford is in scintillating form at present and has been thriving under the guidance of interim United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since he arrived in December.
The youngster netted the only goal of the game against Leicester on Sunday, extending his scoring run to six goals in eight games.
Rashford may now well attract interest from some of Europe's biggest outfits in the coming months - and Kluivert thinks his former side should swoop for the 21-year-old as a replacement for the ageing Suarez.
I like Marcus Rashford, a lot. It will be really difficult to get him over. But he is a good player," he told Sport360.
"I don't see a lot of players who can play in Barcelona. [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, perhaps he can play.
"There is not a lot. Maybe some players who can play in La Liga, young players. But, for me, I think the best one is Marcus Rashford.
"He has got the skills, the attitude, he's quick, he's fast, he can score goals.
Marcus Rashford

"He is not always in the first XI at Manchester United and maybe he wants to change club. So, why not?"
It is unclear how long Suarez, 32, has left at the top of the game.
However, Barcelona do not appear to be in a hurry to lose the former Liverpool star.
Suarez is still a regular starter at the Nou Camp under Ernesto Valverde.
Meanwhile, Rashford will reportedly be offered a new deal by United in the coming weeks.

Lionel Messi has asked one of his Barcelona teammates to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus during the summer, after interest from the Italian champions.

Barcelona have some humongous salaries which get paid every week with the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho, SergioIt has been speculated that Ivan Rakitic has an offer from Paris Saint-Germain, and if Barcelona look in to cash in on the Croat, he will straightaway head to the Parc de Princes. That said, Barcelona might even allow Jasper Cillessen to leave. Honestly, he is too good to be a second choice goalie and he might probably walk into the first team of other European clubs.
Apparently, Juventus are keen on bringing the Dutch shot stopper to their roster as they believe that he could be the rightful replacement to Gianluigi Buffon, their veteran goalkeeper who is now at Paris Saint-Germain spending the twilight of his career. Lionel Messi knows this, and even the Barcelona captain has recommended that Cillessen goes, of course for his own good.
The Italian giants are willing to pay up to 40 million euros for the services of the former Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper. For now, Jasper Cillessen has been ruled out for six weeks and will be missing both of Barcelona’s El Clasico semi-finals in the Copa del Rey over the month of February. So just in case Barcelona’s bitter rivals knock them out, Cillessen could have made his last appearance for the club.
Jasper Cillessen has done a lot for Barcelona, and since 2016/17, he has won a lot for the club, especially playing an integral role in their Copa del Rey triumphs by featuring in nearly every cup fixture. Despite being a top class keeper, he never created a fuss in the dressing room and for sure, he will succeed at Juventus.Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi all getting paid a bomb amongst others. Players like Gerard Pique and Ivan Rakitic do not earn meagerly either, and Jordi Alba is expected to be joining that list soon, maximum till the end of this season.
Barcelona have also signed Frenkie de Jong in January and though the player arrives in summer, the club will have to ensure sound finances as well as some room in the squad to accommodate the Netherlands international. As a result, they are looking to undertake a drive to get rid of the dead or old weights in their squad during the summer.
