The former Chelsea and England boss is still struggling to get to grips with the Blues’ decision to sell Nemanja Matic to Premier League rivals Manchester United and is not yet convinced by his replacement.
Antonio Conte’s side were nowhere near their best as they threw away a two-goal lead courtesy of David Luiz and Eden Hazard, with Aleksandar Kolarov and Edin Dzeko pegging them back.
Hazard salvaged a late point to keep Chelsea top of Group C but it was a less than impressive display from the English champions.
And Hoddle took aim at Bakayoko for his lack of impact on the pitch.
Bakayoko’s another one who has to come into the fray – he’s got to do more for me,’ Hoddle told BT Sport after the game. ‘He’s come over with a reputation, I’m not sure quite yet what he’s got.
‘He’s a big, strong player but he got knocked off the ball a few times tonight.
‘But can he play it? Can he get in the box? Does he hold? I’m not sure.
‘The loss of Matic as well. Matic going to United, I’m scratching my head still. You don’t give him to one of your rivals.
‘And he’s playing superb for United and is a big miss for Chelsea.’
