OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER will be tempted to shake up his squad as Manchester United look to get back to winning ways against Chelsea on Sunday (4.30pm).
Manchester United are in a dismal run of form with defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday their seventh loss in nine matches across all competitions.
The Red Devils have a chance to end that streak at home to Chelsea this weekend, and Solskjaer is expected to make a number of changes in order to spark a reaction.
The United manager fielded a surprise starting XI in the 2-0 defeat to City, with Matteo Darmian coming into a back five and Andreas Pereira preferred to Nemanja Matic.
The duo is expected to drop to the bench again this weekend with Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez all in contention for a recall.
Switch information from 5-3-2 to 4-3-1-2 would mean Lukaku is the most likely forward to get the nod in attack alongside Marcus Rashford.
Meanwhile, Matic could come back in after being dropped for a sub-par performance in the 4-0 loss to Everton last weekend.
Ander Herrera has missed the last six matches due to injury and remains a doubt so either Fred or Scott McTominay are expected to start.
In defense, Antonio Valencia is sidelined while Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are both carrying injuries and are also doubtful.
Therefore, Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof will start in central defense while Ashley Young and Luke Shaw claim the full-back roles.
David de Gea’s position has also been called into question after a serious of high-profile errors, although it would be a huge surprise if Solskjaer opts for Sergio Romero in goal.
United are currently sixth in the Premier League, three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
Victory over the Blues is vital in order to give the Red Devils a chance of securing Champions League qualification with Arsenal also in the hunt.
Manchester United predicted line-up vs Chelsea – Premier League
(4-3-1-2): De Gea; Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw; Matic, McTominay, Pogba; Lingard; Lukaku, Rashford
