Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to react after Marcos Alonso put in a dreadful performance against Manchester City.
On a day where it would be hard to find a good performance from any player in Chelsea colours, the Spanish international’s showing in the 6-0 defeat to the champions was especially poor.
Fans of the west London-based side have been unhappy with the former Bolton man for large parts of this season, frustration which was acted on by boss Maurizio Sarri as he dropped Alonso against Bournemouth in favour of Emerson.
Be sure to check out the incredible story of the man who rose from a Tanzanian refugee camp to become one of Australia’s biggest football.
The 28-year-old was continuously caught out as the Citizens raced into a 4-0 lead before half-time, before being withdrawn by Sarri in the second half as the rout worsened.
After seeing his side lose 4-0 to Bournemouth without Alonso in the team, and then seeing them lose 6-0 to City with him in the side, Sarri must be wondering what to do about his left-back position.
However, Chelsea fans on Twitter are all in agreement that they’ve had enough of the Spaniard…

I really wished Mike Dean would just sent Alonso off because he's a terrible footballer.— Mario Pegas (@pegasverse) February 10, 2019
Get the easiest 100th red card. Alonso playing football should be a crime. #CFC
Please send Alonso off. I'm begging you.— CFC (@CFCWriter) February 10, 2019
Alonso is shocking. Shouldn’t be allowed near that team again. Azpi at LB Rudiger at RB and Christensen in with Luiz would be a more sensible option. #CFC— Legolo Kante (@legolokante) February 10, 2019
Have you ever seen a bigger decline from a player in a single season like Marcos Alonso? Started the first 6 games of the season in the form of his life with a goal, 4 assists and 3 clean sheets. Now looks like he should be playing for Scunthorpe in League 1. #CFC— CFC-Blues.com (@CFCBlues_com) February 10, 2019

WHY YOU ARE SO STUBBORN BY STILL BELIEVING ALONSO & JORGINHO WILL PLAY WELL?!
EMBARASSING! 😡😡😡#CFC
