Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho chooses his Barcelona squad number.
LIVERPOOL star Philippe Coutinho has chosen to wear the No7 shirt at Barcelona, according to reports.
Barcelona are confident of signing Coutinho from Liverpool despite the Reds insisting he is not for sale.
Express Sport understands the Catalan giants feel a transfer fee of around £130million will be enough for Liverpool to give up their star asset.
And Coutinho, it seems, is just as confident of making the move to the Nou Camp.
Spanish website Don Balon claims the 25-year-old Liverpool star has chosen to wear the No7 shirt currently worn by Arda Turan.
Turkey international Turan has struggled to shine since arriving from Atletico Madrid in January 2015.
With Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Gerard Deulofeu ahead of him in the pecking order, a move away seems to be on the cards.
AC Milan are interested in signing Turan and, with Barcelona desperate to raise funds for Coutinho, a deal could happen.
Don Balon also say Nike’s website error a few days ago was down to their confidence that Coutinho will end the month as a Barcelona player.
Meanwhile, Liverpool legend John Aldridge thinks his former club have the resources to keep their star man until the summer.
“Philippe Coutinho's future was a huge talking point in the summer, and two days into the January window it's very much back on the agenda,” he wrote for the Liverpool Echo.
“It's a hard one to gauge from the outside, as we are not privy to the discussions that have gone on between the clubs, the player and his representatives.
“What I will say, though, is that I see no reason for Liverpool to let him leave the club this month.
“I think we all know he's going in the summer, 100 per cent.
“His head has been turned, he wants to play for Barcelona and Liverpool have to accept that.”
