El Clasico excitement is steadily building in Spain the week.
El Clasico is arguably the biggest club football match in the world.
Next Saturday night will be no different. Real Madrid will host Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu and Los Blancos really need to win to put pressure on the La Liga leaders.
As Madrid have been away winning the FIFA Club World Cup, Barcelona have extended their stranglehold on La Liga.
Barcelona will go into the match with an 11 point lead over Los Blancos.
If Real fail to win, many will start to believe Zinedine Zidane’s men will be too far behind the Catalans to stop them winning the title.
EL CLASICO PREDICTED LINE UPS
Marca have already predicted the likely Real Madrid and Barcelona line ups next weekend.
Both sides are expected to be without any surprises.
Zidane will line up Madrid in a 4-4-2 formation, with Keylor Navas in goal.
The back four will be Madrid’s top brass: Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo.
As is standard, Brazilian spoiler Casemiro will sit in front of the back four.
That will also give license to Toni Kroos, Isco and Luka Modric to do damage further up the field.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema will lead the line.
Barcelona will also play 4-4-2, although the combination of Sergio Busquets and Paulinho in the central midfield roles is rather different to Real’s system.
Ivan Rakitic and Andres Iniesta will complete Barcelona’s midfield, behind strikers Leo Messi and Luis Suarez.
Former Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen will be under pressure to perform. The veteran is needed due to Samuel Umtiti’s long term injury.
Marc Andre ter Stegen will line up in goal. Gerard Pique, Nelson Semedo and Jordi Alba complete Barca’s line up.
