LUIS SUAREZ has opened up on his goal problems for Barcelona this season and has likened his situation to that of Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
Suarez has been relatively goal shy, managing just three in La Liga this term.
Despite carving open an eight-point gap to Real at the top of the table, Suarez has been in the shadow of his Argentine team-mate Lionel Messi, who has already scored 12 times in Spain’s top-flight.
Similarly, Ronaldo has had a very quiet season by his extraordinarily high standards, netting just once in La Liga.
And Suarez admits he feels sorry for Ronaldo’s situation, but insists the onus is on the likes of him and Antonine Griezmann at Atletico Madrid to turn it around.
It's rare because we're all going through a similar spell, like Antoine [Griezmann],” Suarez told Spanish paper Sport.
“They're moments, but they're situations which have to be turned around.”
After Neymar’s £200million move to Paris Saint-Germain, Barca were tipped to go on a huge spending spree, and Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund represented their biggest purchase at £135.5m.
And when quizzed about whether summer signings are frequently discussed in Barca’s dressing room, he added: “No. In summer a little, because you're more aware who could come.
“We're not ignorant to what comes out, of the players that could come and leave.
“But at this time of year, we don't pay attention because we're playing for a lot.
