BARCELONA star Andre Gomes reportedly thinks Lionel Messi is not as good as Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.
Portuguese Gomes has spent the last year playing with both Messi and Ronaldo for club and country.
The midfielder signed for Barcelona from Valencia last August, but toiled as the club lost out on both the La Liga title and Champions League to fierce rivals Real Madrid.
It has previously been reported he has a difficult relationship with Lionel Messi, who supposedly thinks the Portugal international is not good enough to grace the field at the Nou Camp.
And Spanish outlet Diario Gol say Gomes thinks Ronaldo is better than his club team-mate.
Both the former Manchester United star and Messi will fight it out for the Ballon d’Or in December.
And, after his exploits for Madrid last season, Ronaldo is the favourite to win the accolade for the fifth time in his career.
The 32-year-old fired Los Blancos to a first league title since 2012, back when Jose Mourinho was in charge.
He then followed that up with a brace in the Champions League final as Juventus were put to the sword in a 4-1 defeat.
Diario Gol add Gomes thinks Ronaldo is a greater asset than Messi because of his knack of popping up with goals on the biggest stages.
He has apparently conveyed these feelings to Portuguese team-mates who clamour to know who he rates as the better player.
And, consequently, he is risking a feud with Messi in the process.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis thinks differently to Gomes and reckons Ronaldo does not deserve to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
“The Ballon d'Or is a subjective matter,” he said.
Cristiano hasn't done anything until the last two months.”
Luis also appeared to tip Messi for the prize.
“I admire Messi, he’s never complained to me in any game we played but I've also never asked him for his jersey and never would,” he added.
"I came to win, not to say I played against Messi."
