That is the view of former Manchester United manager Paul Scholes.
The midfielder reckons Mourinho’s recent comments on “other managers” complaining about player fatigue have got to Conte.
Italian boss Conte hit back over Mourinho’s claims of an unnamed boss who “cries” over squad problems, saying: “I think every coach, every manager, has to talk about his job, about himself, about his team, about his players, and not the other.”
“My answer is always the same. Every coach must be focused on his own work, on his own complaints, and I think that’s the best way.”
And Scholes reckons those comments show Mourinho has had an influence on his managerial rival.
Has Mourinho got under Conte’s skin? It looks like he has done a little bit,” Scholes told Sky Sports.
“Conte was probably badly advised, someone told him they were talking about him but Mourinho didn’t mention anyone’s name. He just said ‘other managers’. Conte’s had a little bite back.
