Chelsea FC have been linked with Thomas Muller recently as the German star has not been happy at Bayern Munich due to limited starts under former manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Chelsea FC should consider a swap deal involving Willian plus cash for Thomas Muller. Muller has not been happy at Bayern Munich under former manager Ancelotti and only started 25 matches last season.
And while Carlo Ancelotti’s sacking is good news for the German play-maker, it’s still uncertain whether he will regain his starting spot under new interim coach Jupp Heynckes.
Willian, meanwhile, has not quite made an impression yet under Chelsea’s Antonio Conte. Last season he lost his starting spot to Pedro and has failed to impress this season too. Willian was dreadful in the last match against Manchester City and lost possession and misplace passes throughout the match. He has simply not been quite the same player he once was when Jose Mourinho was the manager.
Chelsea FC should consider offering Willian and cash for Thomas Muller as the move would suit both parties. Muller would get more playing time with Chelsea and Willian vice-versa at Munich. Willian would offer pace and energy to a largely ageing side with Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery both in the latter stages of their career.
While Muller would offer something different to a largely predictable attack for Chelsea FC. Muller could fill in as the third attacking midfielder in Chelsea’s new 5-3-2 formation. With N’Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko behind him, Muller could focus on providing his genius movement and attacking vision to Conte’s side.Muller is also very versatile as he can play a number of positions including attacking midfield as a number ten or as a striker. This would suit Chelsea’s system perfectly especially considering the Blues have very little cover in the striker department.
Conte could play Muller and Morata up front with Eden Hazard in behind as the number ten or vice-versa with Muller behind Hazard,. Muller would offer a number of different attacking systems for Conte’s Chelsea which would help keep things fresh and less predictable for opponents.Chelsea FC could offer around £20m plus Willian to get the deal done and it could be done in the next transfer window in January. Chelsea FC need an attacking player to provide competition for Morata and this deal suits all parties.
