Antonio Conte is hoping Chelsea can complete at least two new signings before Wednesday’s transfer deadline and the Blues are said to be closing in on at least one,
Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri has been on Chelsea’s radar for some time and Conte has sanctioned a move for the Brazilian fullback to act as cover for Marcos Alonso as their left wing-back options are lacking to say the least.

The 23-year-old is ready to swap Roma for Chelsea this month with the opportunity to work under Conte particularly persuasive, and a deal worth a reported €20m with €6m in further bonuses agreed between the two clubs.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the deal could be completed as soon as tomorrow which could see Chelsea register the defender in time to feature for the Blues in their Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Wednesday night. 
Palmieri’s teammate Edin Dzeko is also on Chelsea’s radar but a deal for teh former Manchester City striker has been hard to strike thus far. Read  more
