Cristiano Ronaldo was angry with Isco after Real Madrid’s victory over Las Palmas on Sunday, according to reports in Spain. Zinedine Zidane’s side secured a 3-0 win over the relegation candidates thanks to goals from Casemiro, Marco Asensio and Isco.
Ronaldo has now gone three games without a goal in La Liga and according to Onda Cero’s radio show ‘El Transistor’, Madrid’s record scorer was upset after his latest match. El Transistor reports that Isco’s decision not to celebrate with Ronaldo, who provided the cross to set up the goal, has made the Portugal international unhappy.
Isco met Ronaldo’s cross from the right flank to score from close range, but while Spain international was congratulated by several of his teammates, Ronaldo turned back to walk to Madrid’s half. Ronaldo acknowledged Isco with a handshake but clearly did not seem happy that Madrid had put the game beyond doubt.
But despite his expression and body language in the win over Las Palmas, Zinedine Zidane insists the 32-year-old is happy.
Cristiano has given the pass for the goal [of Isco] and I can tell you that he is very pleased with it,’ said Zidane. ‘He is happy to give a goal and it was a beautiful goal. We know that he likes to score and he is happiest when scoring. ‘But we believe that he will make a difference. He is not doing it now by scoring in the league, but he is in the Champions League and he also does other things. ‘He is helpful to the team and in the end, he will make a difference.’
